The Nevada Historical Society is hosting its second lecture series that celebrates one of the state’s most important industries: gaming.
The American Gaming Archives Lecture Series is scheduled for Friday, April 27, with a wine and cheese reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by the lecture with Neal Cobb beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Harold’s Club was an icon in early legalized Nevada Gaming with an almost cult like following of both patrons and employees. Here are some reasons why from a very unique perspective!

Serving as Moderator for the evening is Dr. Michael Fischer, former Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
The NHS American Gaming Archives collections were created in 2006 as a home for gambling history in both manuscript and artifact form. The archive’s collection includes manufacturer’s records and artifacts from the major gambling manufacturing companies that sold gaming paraphernalia throughout the United States and the Caribbean.
Admission to this fascinating lecture is $5 for adults; free for members and children 17 and younger.
