Writers’ Wednesday – Wed, Feb 13
Writers’ Wednesday
February 13, 2019
5:00 – 5:30 pm Wine and Cheese Reception
5:30 – 6:30 pm Lecture
This month our guest author, Jack Hursh will give a lecture on his book Nevada Barn Heritage – Truckee Meadows Remembered.
Jack Hursh is a Cartographer and Publications Specialist with the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology.
Jack’s lecture will showcase his original photography of historical Nevada barns and discussing the architecture of these structures. He will regale the audience about how Loren Jahn and he helped rescue the little historical ranch outbuildings that are now located at the Bartley Ranch Park.
The Writers’ Wednesday Lecture Series, held the second Wednesday of each month, features a different author who takes part in a book signing, a presentation and a question-and-answer session with the audience. A wine and cheese reception precedes the lecture.
The intent of the program is to highlight writers who specifically focus on Nevada, the Great Basin, or the West in general. The authors talk about the content of their books but also share details about the creative process.
Admission is $5 for adults; free for children 17 and younger and for Nevada Historical Society members. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early as seating is limited in our Events Space. For details, call 688-1190.
