Tule Basket Making Workshop

July 10th, 2019
10:30 – 11:30 am – Kids (ages 9 and older)
1 pm – 4 pm – Adults

Come learn the traditional art of basket making in one of our basket-making classes. Children will learn how to weave a small basket and take their own basket home by participating in this hands-on activity. Adults will learn general information about weaving styles, how materials are processed, and what materials are used for basket weaving and then learn how to weave a basket to take home. $15 for kids workshop. $35 for adults workshop. Required sign-up in advance by calling the Nevada Historical Society at 775-688-1190.

Fossil Making Workshop – two times available

1 pm – 2 pm – Kids (ages 5 and older)

Come learn about fossils and make your own fossil casting with clay and plaster-of-Paris. Children ages 5 and up must be accompanied by an adult.

$10 per fossil. Required sign-up in advance by calling the Nevada Historical Society at 775-688-1190.
