AGA Fireside Chat – Frank Sinatra, Part II – Wed., Oct. 2

AGA Fireside Chat
Wednesday, October 2, 2019
5:00-5:30 pm: wine and cheese reception
5:30-6:30 pm: Frank Sinatra Saga Part II: The revocation hearing that Never Came to be!

Guest speakers, Michael Archer, Howard Herz and Michael Fischer

The subject of discussion is the Gaming license revocation of Frank Sinatra at the Cal Neva. It involves Sam Giancana, who at the time was the Boss of Chicago’s organized crime outfit, Phyllis McGuire, who was appearing as part of the McGuire Sisters act at the Cal Neva and who was also Giancana’s girlfriend, and the newly issued Nevada “Black Book” which prohibited Giancana’s presence at the casino.

Sinatra, at first, tried to schmooze Olsen and later in the call, became irate and extremely profane. The entire process will be discussed at the Historical Society starting with wine, cheese and Sinatra’s music at 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 25, 2019. This one should be a lot of fun!!

Michael Archer will discuss how Sinatra pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes from the sitting President of the United States down to his attorney at the hearing, Bill Raggio. Michael can talk about the background of the Raggio-Sinatra friendship and how Raggio felt, when after Sinatra’s death, the truth came out because of a FOIA request for the FBI file on Sinatra. This one should also be very interesting because it will actually be an accurate representation of Sinatra’s real background!
