The Nevada Historical Society is working with the Washoe County Library to provide our monthly lecture series on all things Nevada by Zoom. The fall lecture series starts back again on the third Thursday in November. We want to give a shout-out to the Washoe County Library System for helping NHS provide our online lectures.

High Noon: Shootout with Neal Cobb is a wonderful history series that delves into fascinating Nevada topics with local experts. Neal Cobb is a passionate historian and honorary curator for the Nevada Historical Society. Guest Speaker: Neal Cobb, Nevada Historian
Title: Reno 50’s & 60’s

Neal Cobb, local historian will give an engaging program with photos and stories depicting what life was like in Reno, 1950s-60s. He will be using images from his Modern Photo photography collection.

Biography:

Neal Cobb is a Reno native, and was involved in his family’s business, Modern Photo. Neal fell heir to fourteen large boxes of old Reno and Northern Nevada photos and printable film after his parents died in the 1980’s and subsequently authored two books, Reno Now and Then, Books I and II.
He has worked closely representing the Nevada Historical Society, having presented over 500 programs in Reno, Sparks and Northern Nevada since 1988.
