Adam Michalski, Curator of History, Nevada State Railroad Museum, Carson City, will talk about the Overview and History of the Nevada State Railroad Museum.
For almost 50 years, the Nevada State Railroad Museum has been part of the Carson City community. The museum staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to preserve and interpret the history of Nevada railroading throughout that time. Adam Michalski will give an overview of the Nevada State Railroad Museum, including: its history; highlights of the archive and photo collections; stories about some of the key locomotives and railroad equipment in the collection; educational programs; current projects in the restoration shop; and more.
Adam Michalski has served as the Curator of History at the Nevada State Railroad Museum since 2023. Before that, he served as the Curator of Education from 2014 to 2023. Adam has had a lifelong love affair with trains and railroading. He enjoys researching the history of the Virginia & Truckee, as well as the railroads he grew up with in the Midwest, such as the Milwaukee Road and the Chicago & North Western. In his free time, he loves to travel, especially by train.
