At NHS, you do not have to pay an admission fee to come in and visit our Museum Store or use our Research Library.

Is there parking available?

NHS has designated parking spaces on the east side of our building. If no parking is available, please find any available UNR parking space. We will provide you with a free, temporary parking permit at the Admissions office.

Do you offer walking tours?

NHS doesn’t offer walking tours. The Historic Reno Preservation Society (HRPS) offers wonderful walking tours of Reno and promotes preservation of the historical buildings of Reno/Sparks. Their website is www.historicreno.org, or call them at 775-747-4478.

Can you tell me about a building on the state or national register list?

The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) in Carson City manages the records for the state and national listings and can provide information on the nomination process. For more information, visit the SHPO website, or contact Kristen N. Brown at 775-684-3439 or knbrown@shpo.nv.gov.
