Speaker: Fred Frampton, retired archaeologist and historian
Summary of Program: This lecture will give an overview of the history of Aurora during its boom and bust, especially highlighting some of the more important, or at least, interesting inhabitants. The talk will feature more than 100 historic photographs, many from our Historical Society, and from Mineral County Museum, Mono County Historical Society, and from private collections. In addition, a number of important references will be shared. A program you won’t want to miss!
Speaker Bio: Fred Frampton received his BS and MA in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University. Fred worked briefly, as an archaeologist with the BLM in Ely, 1979-1981, and with the BLM in Elko, 1984-1986. He served, in Elko, as Forest Archaeologist on the Humboldt National Forest between 1987-2001. He then was the Forest Archaeologist on the combined Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest from 2001 until his retirement in 2015. Fred continues a bit of a retirement career, in history and archaeology, by providing lectures at UNR’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and elsewhere.

Sierra View Library has been serving communities from Midtown to South Reno since 1987.
