St. Mary in the Mountains Catholic Church

Mr. Ferrari provided 16 years of dedicated and distinguished service on the City of Reno Historic Resource Commission, advocating for preservation and adaptive reuse to preserve Reno’s historic resources.

Mr. Ferrari has been involved in historic preservation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings throughout his distinguished career. He has an extensive resume of projects on which he has served as the structural engineer, contributing his expertise and passion to the renovation and preservation of notable historic buildings throughout the State of Nevada. Among those properties are St. Mary in the Mountain Catholic Church Retrofit, Piper’s Opera House, Fourth Ward School, all in in Virginia City. In Reno, the Washoe County Courthouse Strengthening and Riverside Hotel restoration are all standing tall because of Mr. Ferrari’s efforts.

The preceding examples of Mr. Ferrari’s historic restoration experience are just a portion of the over thirty historic projects that he has engineered. This experience in a historic structural renovation integrates a competent structural retrofit into the parameter of the historic fabric of the building. The result is a structurally sound building that reflects the historic architecture of the building, not the structural retrofit.
