The United States Forest Service in Nevada: An Uncertain Beginning, 1905-1934

Summary of Talk

This presentation discusses the arrival of the Forest Service to Nevada in the early 20th Century. Nevada is not known for its timber reserves. The state is also the most arid in the U.S.. How did portions of Nevada become reserved and why did it matter to the sparsely populated residents in the state?

Speaker Bio

Ryan Powell has a PhD in history from the University of Nevada. He works for Tesla Fleet at Gigafactory Nevada.
