NHS MS Finding Aids & Collection Lists
A finding aid is a detailed description of an archival collection. It enables you to find a letter, diary, or other document involving a specific person—items that may be part of a collection you didn’t know about or may not have thought to search.
Manuscript materials in the collection include correspondence, diaries, financial records, reports, membership rosters, bylaws, minutes, subject files, and legal papers that document an individual’s life or career; environmental, cultural, social, and fraternal organizations; and businesses.
